Beautiful Girl…

I knew a girl once
She made me laugh all the time
I think I made her laugh as much
Many a day and night did we spend on dreams/boys/music/food/laughter
Always- laughter!

We were usually on the same wavelength
Words were not always necessary

Some people thought that she was over the top
Some people thought we were sisters (not!)
Some people thought she was all that
Some people loved her radiant smile
Some people hated her
Many people loved her
Some people did not wish her well
Some people rooted for her
None of them forgot her

Neither did I.

Today, I found the girl

Life has not always been kind
Life has not been all laughter- but whose life has?
Life has made her stronger- so much stronger
Life has made her prouder
Life has made her a mother
Life has made me stronger
Life has made me prouder
Life has made us both so much wiser

Life has given her back to me- the beautiful girl.

Dedicated with much love and joy to my friend/muse/kindred soul/collaborator…the beautiful girl: C____________ (unajijua!)

  • Reads very beautifully just as the girl you write about sounds…

  • Hello future Mrs.E, been a while since I stopped by here (or to my blog for that matter) Just got done reading through your most recent posts to catch up. Good to see you’re enjoying the new position, amused by your killer-connexion, so cool that someone else is enjoying Eric Wainaina’s new album as much as I do and this post is so sweet and thoughtful…aww.
Seems like your wedding plans are going well too, and you’ll actually get the parties you wanted. Oh to be a fly at that bbq in Aug.
    Keep well.

  • @ Prettylyf…she is- if only people got to share this kind of friendship more often (and work harder at keeping it alive)…there would be less wars!
@ Medusa…where have you been? I still pass by yours to see if there are signs of life, but alas! You might be a fly at the bbq- if we go ahead and do the live webcast, complete with subtitles for all the kyuk parts! LOL, just kidding, though I could pull a Star Jones and see what kind of ’sponsorship’ we can get ati we were Bata shoes, Kicomi or Rivatex fabrics, and bbq by Kenyatta Market inc or somesuch LOL…

  • nice pice. sounds like a nice pal you got there. nice that y’all are back together.

a great friendship is worth keeping (when i started that i felt a hint of wisdom, lakini wapi..ni pepo tu…)

  • ooookay, evidently ilikuwa pepo mbaya, i meant to say ‘nice PIECE’ in fact beautiful piece…jeez!

  • Bless God for friends like C, got one and i know how much having one means. LOL at sponsorship by Kicomi or Rivatex fabrics. All the best in the plans.
